Well, you can get acetates cut at a number of places, but acetates are made
from softer material than vinyl records. I've seen varying information, but as
far as I know acetates (sometimes called dubplates) are good for around 50-100
plays.
In other words, scratching would probably destroy 'em pretty quickly.
