Well speaking for myself (and I'm unanimous in this) I sold mine because
I was playing with it too much and not working with it enough. I would
boot it up and just wank and then turn it off. I have a couple analog
sequencers and this was the one I could easily replace if I ever changed
my mind so when push came to shove I sold it.

For whatever reason I found when I use the Wiard or Arp sequencer I do a
little more "work" as well. it's not that it was difficult to work with
but the Arp is a little more immediate (which is important when you're
spolied with gear like I am) and I like patching and pluging things just
a little more than twiddling screens or numbers.

The only real final straw was when I moved to a more modular setup in
the past two years. Previously i used the MAQ via midi only. Lately I
used the MAQ soley via CV/Gate for that issue it made sense for me to
use the ARP, etc since I was using CV/Gate everywhere else.

I truly love the Doepfer though and will probably pick up another one
sometime in the future. There's a lot in that box that you can't do with
other sequencers and the presets are certainly useful if you're more
disciplined and setup songs and sets with a lot of preparation.
