i totally agree... most of the tracks either sound really bland or are
just
long loops... the whole comp is salvaged by the jimi tenor, 2ls and mark
bell
tracks, and to a lesser extent the boc track... i was expecting it to
grow on
me but it just makes me really depressed at the lack of heart that went
into
the effort. autechre are showing off some major lack of consistency, for
one
thing, and the influence of boc is obvious, in the spirit of the track
(its
called Stop Look Listen for pete's sake) rather than in the music
itself. the
last mira calix 10" failed to flabbergast me, but this is even more
vacant and
gives her away as dabbling around in her techno-star boyfriend's
equipment (no
sexism intended, dont start a new girls in idm thread so soon). as for
the
tj/afx thing, did they snatch it off some north american groupie's demo
tape?
anyways, sorry about the bitterness, and this in no way should count as
a
review, but i cant write proper appreciation when i pay 34.99 (cdn) for
such
disappointing material...

as for buzz caner, is track one on the cd supposed to be cut-up like
that in
the early parts, or is my cd just scratched?
