I'm by no means an expert on trance and my collection of trance records numbers less than I have fingers, but this question has been posed before and the universal answered tended to be LSG (Oliver Lieb).

I have yet to find a trace record that could match the power and brilliance of his "Collected Works" disc on hooj choons. perfectly mixed, intelligent effects, picks you up and doesn't stop until 69:33 minutes later. when I first got it, 'Collected Works' stayed in my discman for a solid month and served as the perfect accompaniment to my daily commute from suburbaban Chicago into the Loop. excellent energy.

as far as trance labels are concerned, feedback I've received points towards the aforementioned Hooj Choons and Platipus as well.
