The >Serge filter reads no different to the multi-mode Doepfer one. The PCO from >Serge is just like >the basic VCO from Doepfer (A-110). And the NTO is close to A-111. Also, you can use the Comparator a s a level detector to let pulses (for syncopated rhythms out your stepped function) or control-voltages (say from a DSG to an oscillator for a flat pitch change). Also, the Comparator is the easiest way to convert a _weak_ audio sound into a pulse for timing, etc. on the serge. Kent always slams the serge systems. I always promote them. It is rather a religious argument. I truly doubt that Doepfer filter will ring like serge filters ... Serge is absolutely the way to go. Your are correct: it takes several Doepfer modules to equal on serge ... what does that tell you? :) Knox Proto Records for Instrumentality: http://www.protolab.com/ Yoshi the Pot-Bellied Pig: http://www.slip.net/~atombee/yoshi2.html
