numerology is flexible, has the best gate division implementation in 
the universe, is 100 percent modular, and has really good timing. the 
modulation routings, hard sync, etc allow you to have weighted random 
elements to structured music.

it also runs great on a 500 mhz Pismo with 384 mb of ram. that as the 
five12 alpha test machine for a long time.

however, it is not hardware. even though Numerology has never failed me 
(i used to always play shows with the freshest alpha and it never 
crashed while the transport was in motion), the Apple Store has and 
that is one of the reasons i use the TR-909, the MS2000R (well, used 
to), Z1, etc ... if for some reason an Apple Genius decides to 
accidentally reformat your boot drive 2 hours before your gig it 
doesn't keep you from playing it.
