>Uberzone is another story. > >He's a local kid who's goes by the name 'Q' and has made some wicked new >school electro tracks like 'Botz' and 'The Brain'. > >I use to have his homepage bookmarked but can't find it... http://exo.com/~uberzone/ It's really out of date but you can at least drool over the older gear. >He just put out a new single and has been working on his debut album for >the last 6 months. "The Freaks" just came out on City of Angels on vinyl and shows up on the CoA "White Noise" comp. I dunno if it will be released on cd. The White Noise comp also features tracks from other CoA guys (Crystal Method, Simply Jeff, Witchdockta) and some Skint/Wall of Sound blokes (Mekon, Midfield General, Hardknox) and a few others (Monkey Mafia). All of it in the big beat sound stylee. His remix of BT's "Peace Love and Grease" just came out. If anyone sees a copy of his remix of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" could they grab one for me (it might Japan only)? And he's been holed up for the last week working on a remix of Sarah McLachlan's "sweet surrender". I think he has a Simply Jeff remix scheduled after that and then the Uberzone album might get done... >I've noticed that they're all starting to sound very similar. Funny, that's what I thought everyone says about IDM ;) paul p.s. For LA shoppers only: duck over to Aron's and dig through the used bins. You MUST buy Atomic Hi-Fi (they had 3 copies last week). It's got some hard big beat/nu- skool electro and the DJ Demonixx "R2D2" track is gonna get somebody in a heap of trouble when George Lucas finds out. Anybody who likes the Jon Carter mixed cd's is gonna trip on this.
