The book went through two editions, and so when ARP converted all their synths to the black/orange motif in 1978, they gave the book a corresponding motif change also. Guess they didn't change the publishing data to reflect the second edition. As for those high prices, they are not the idea of one crazed book store manager. That link was to a "network" of used book stores worldwide, and so each book listed was from a different used book store. So they're ALL trying to sell them at that crazy price. If there was a used book store anywhere in the network (most belong to it) that had one at a reasonable price, it would have appeared there. I'm told you can occasionally get the book on eBay for around $60-$75. If anyone is curious in seeing what the front covers of the two additions looked like, I've got them scanned here: http://www.overacker.com/ody/arpbook.jpg http://www.overacker.com/ody/SynthBk.jpg Rob >Looking at the first one, I think it might be a typo, but then I see=20 >the rest of the list and they're all just as ridiculous.
