That reminds me...I went to Chicago for the 4th of July Jeff Mills/Claude Young/Surgeon affair. The day after I went to check out Gramaphone. Still on a techno vibe, I picked out a stack of records. When the employees say me standing in line behind all the boys for chance at a turntable, they made a special place for me to listen up the the DJ stand they have. I felt special :) It's nice to know they support we aspiring female DJs. -carter At 11:59 AM 10/22/98 +0100, you wrote: >Trux Trax wrote:- > > >>you're right, it is hard sometimes. i mean, i'll go into a shop and >>experience what you're talking about all the time. the guys who work >>there automatically think i don't know jack about the music because i've >>got blonde hair and makeup on. it's really frustrating when they're >>pointing out the latest happy hardcore and i'm looking for the complete >>opposite. one guy in Chicago actually CHOKED when i asked for the new >>mu-ziq EP awhile ago...it's crazy. >> >>the most important thing is not to judge on appearance or the fact that >>somebody's a girl or a boy. i mean, just because somebody happens to be >>a boy at a party doesn't mean that i assume he's a know-all, and just >>because somebody's a girl doesn't mean they're clueless either...if you >>go around making assumptions on shit like that you're gonna miss meeting >>a lot of really hip people, right?
