>Has Oscar actually recorded with this stuff? I actually used to buy a lot >of jazz records, and I've never associated him with the electrified jazz >dudes. Everything I've heard of his is brilliantly played trad jazz. I've >even seen him play once, and it was his trio. He played a Steinway. No. He has talked about doing it. But I don't think that he feels his electronic music is good enough to release (even though it may be better than some of the stuff I've heard other peolle release). He's such a great musician. He is truly one of the best jazz piano players ever, and he recognizes that. He has a remarkable balance of pride and humility. I think that it would be difficult for him to feel that his electronic music was in the same league as his piano playing. He is picky about how he is represented. He only wants to present his best work, the work he is truly proud of. BTW, he prefers a Boesendorfer. Regards, Mike. ........ http://www.pacificrim.net/~mikekent/ ........ ..........
