IMHO the BS2 has plenty of the immediate operational vibe of the 101, but the sound isn't comparable. The BS2 has what is to me a "modern analogue" sound, which again to me is midrange-heavy and lacking in air somehow (Sub37 vs Model D is a similar comparison). There isn't any of that skinny rubbery zip that the 101 has. All that said: I think the BS2 is one of the best designed synths I've ever used.
