I say again his jazz studies/music education manifest themselves in his ability to maintain a consistent level of (melodic) excellence regardless of the style. Please don't read that as a suggestion that Mandell's music is in any way jazzy or (ack) acid jazzy, just that he has studied music (fact) and to my ears, it shows. Quondam Current is another fine release. Was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer diversity of Clicks + Cuts the first time through, so no comment, only big grins. laz
