Sounds like a good choice. The virus is good for techy d'n'b sounds. I think it's probably one of the best out there for this. I never used the MV8000 but from specs it looks like a cool workstation if you plan to sample a lot and don't use a computer at all. You can also save your virus multis as sysex into the MV. Now about the x0x drum programming I'd go with a MD-UW instead of the monomachine. The monomachine is good for x0x/arpeggiated synth lines but maybe not ideal for drum programming. But it depends on how you want to work. If you want to fire drum samples in the MV8000 then the MnM may be good. (it's a note based sequencer so if you have a drum kit with different samples assigned to different keys then the MnM will be cool to do that). But if you plan for example to sequence drum/hit sounds from the virus then the MD will be better because it gives you 16 separate channels. Also, the MDUW can do breakbeats fine but you need the UW version for this to import samples into it. With some processing it can sound pretty convincing (hard to get "ghost" notes on 2 bar loops though) But the MnM is a great sequencer as well, and great to take the max out of your synths. But having the virus for synth sounds I think the MnM won't be essential as a sound source. On the other hand the MD is great to mangle samples/loops It all depends on how you envision your workflow.
