Are you the guy who was asking about events in Bristol a while back 'cos
you were going for the weekend?

That's the boat thing, right? What's it like there, I've never been...

Oh, now you're teasing me :-) I *wish* I could have been there. The
heavier stuff like Dope Dragon is my favourite and they just slam down
when they DJ, and they always play some really fresh stuff. I've only
seen them once (Suv, Die, Krust and Size DJing in that order) but it was
seriously life-changing stuff.

Yeah, they're cool blokes. The fame's not going to their heads and they
pretty much always come out on the dancefloor or to the bar while the
others are DJing. The night at the Thekla is their home-base kind of
thing where they can just relax and hook up with old and new people.

Reprazent live isn't as good IMO, although still worth checking out just
because of the ambitiousness of it. Needs a good sound system to fully
appreciate it, not the usual studenty guitar band venues where the sound
is muddy as hell. They may have revised their set since last year for
the new tour, but when I saw them I wanted them to be a but more varied.
We got Share The Fall 3 times, and as much as I love that song, three
times is just too much. It makes them sound like they haven't got enough
songs to fill a set, which just aint the case at all.

Anyway, time to advance plug my website again. It's dedicated to the
music of the above people and 'Bristol drum and bass' in general
(although I hate to use this term 'cos it doesn't mean anything it's
just useful for identifying what's going on instead of saying Full
Cycle/V/Dope Dragon/Studio Drum/etc etc etc). Should be going up in
about a week or so. I'll post the URL and more info then.
