I'm betting they're so desperate for these because they've prolly invested quite a chunk of cash into the 111 and have many ready to ship ---sans one important chip. And for the prices they were paying, I'm guessing they only would have attracted gear that was beyond repair otherwise. Anyway Doepfer is cool, they make very useful stuff at very affordable prices, even if the sound quality isn't the best(VCO/VCF's etc..) the voltage/trigger processing modules are a great compliment to any modular. And appear very well built.... only time will tell.... (I've had zero probs) They admit they cut corners to make it affordable, that's cool! if you want the best and you have the $$$ the get a Serge...etc... -pH Cloaca Recordings
