Well, went to see the ninja crew in Houston last night. All in all it was a good show. The standout was neotropic though. I was very impressed and can't wait for the new album. Best way to describe her material is that it reminded me of download's furnace release. However, it was very structured and more driven by samples than a drum machine. Dark, layerd and dense doesn't even begin to describe it. I talked to her after the show and have to say she is a nice down to earth person. The other stand outs of the night were the herbaliser djs. Mad skills on the turntables. Fun in an old school kinda way. Also, props to the people in charge of the video back drops. Gotta get me one of those video mixers. If the show is coming to your town make sure to check it out. My only complaint though was the volume. It was way to loud and was at the point it would be damaging to your hearing. I forgot my earplugs and had to spend the most of the night in another room listening to the ninja crew. There was a wall between me and the performers and it was still very loud. Kinda ruined the show for me. It was amazing how many people were coming out of the room with their hands against their ears. -daniel
