Sometimes I'll set up dynamic resonances of instruments I want to emulate. Sometimes I'll fire off the band pass filters with an army of software envelopes. Sometimes I'll use the slew limiters as CV processors outside the realm of vocoding. Sometimes it is nice to have a set of narrow band pass filters. It is just part of the overall modular. I personally find it worth the additional frame space. YMMV.
