Hi list,

I've just spotted an ARP (Eminent) Solina String Ensemble (Mark II it
seems) for sale locally.
Seller asks 300=80 for it, but the serigraphs on the front panel are totall=
y
faded.
Wood seems quite ok, and works perfectly he says.
Could it be a deal ? Maybe yes but for something less ?

The Solina could be a cheap but tasty way to obtain a proper String
machine..
Two images of the item in question:

http://s24.postimg.org/4i3g527b9/Solina2.jpg

I was evaluating a cheaper way to do a MIDI retrofit as the Kenton one
<http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/sockets/solina/solina.shtml>costs
more than the instrument itself..
Browsing the archives i only found these posts which seems not to clear
about any alternative solutions:

ml

Are there any chances to retrofit for less than 340p ?
The Kenton mod <http://www.kentonuk.com/kcurrentmanuals/SSTR5000.pdf> seems
advanced by the way, with following codes (velocity?):

8nH notes off
9nH notes on & velocity
0CnH Program Change (mk2 only)
0EnH pitch-bend change (down only)
0FEH active sensing

Regards,
K
