Grant used to have the schematic up of his Wiard frac format joystick. 
It's very simple and just uses the stick, a switch and 2 or 3 
transistors as buffers.  Bare bones but it works great.  I bought one 
from him a little while back and am very happy with it (and the service 
I got).
