Hi! This is a question to those who have knowledge about Roland System 100M schematics. I have heard from quite a lot of persons, that the Roland System 100M sounds quite "flat" and "thin" in comparison to the System 700. I'd like to know whether this is true and what are the reasons. I have the System 700 schematics at home (thanks, M. !), and I found this is quite basic stuff, with the ultra-expensive uA726 exponential converters in the VCO's, however (like in other Roland synths of that area). The filter seems to be a common State Variable one. The VCA's are nice, with OTA and discrete transistor buffers. There are a lot of other special modules of course, but the basic signal path seems to be rather common to me. So what the hell have they changed in the 100M that it should sound so much weaker? Any details welcome, thanks in advance, JH.
