Yes, and yes. But their cheapiness makes it cool; DR-55: a non-programmable
hihat (8th notes, 16th notes), rim shot, external sequencer triggers,
bass drum, snare drum. Don't know much about the '110.

Hell, no. The sound generation is analog, though. Whole thing
reminiscent (note: I'm not saying "sounds like") of '303, with a display
and full synth features thrown in.

CR=CompuRhythm. CR-78 before TR-808. CR-78 had more useless sounds, and
only kludgily (is that a word) programmable by slowing down the tempo
lots. CR-8000 circa 808 times, sounds close but more desirable (IMHO,
that is.) Has that cool CRUNCHhhhhhhhhsssssssssssss hand clap sound,
like the 808 but less realistic.

Roland System-100M. This is about all I know.

X2X=has latin perc.  Rumored 929, but there was a 727 (latin 707) and 626
(cross between 505 and 727: NOT A LATIN 606!!!)

I'll list all the ones I know:

Korg PolySix
Korg Poly-61
Roland SH-101
Roland Jupiter-6
Roland Jupiter-8
Roland Juno-6
Roland Juno-60
E-mu Emulator-II
E-mu Emulator-III
etc...

Synth, methinks.
