I too have the Doepfer MCV24. It has 24 programmable outputs, plus midi to a=
nalog clock and start/stop outs. It also has DIN sync out. The midi and DI=
N sockets are at the rear panel, while all the 1/8" sockets are at the front=
. Power switch is in the rear, so I have mine plugged into another box with=
 switches in the front. =20

The highest resolution is 12-bit and only on the first four sockets. These a=
re intended to be for your pitch CVs. The other sockets are all 7-bit so yo=
u can hear a slight zippering effect if you are using them for pitch with ad=
ditional vibrato, portamento, or adsr from inside the MCV24. If just jumpin=
g from stable note to stable note, 7-bit wont matter, but every channel has s=
lew to try and smooth it out. =20

The Encore has 16-bit as its highest resolution, smoother than the MCV24, bu=
t I don't know how many outputs are 16-bit, if the sockets are in the front,=
has SYNC, etc. I think it has fewer features than the doepfer and fewer ou=
tputs. It's only advantage that I recall was its resolution. =20
