First off, this discussion really does not belong on the analog list and I
am not intersted in arguning my disdain for MIDI in this public forum. I
will reply to this message, but please direct all future replies to me only.

Besides MIDI being a slow, unreliable, non-expressive and confusing piece of
shit, it just does not work with my musical style in great amounts.

I guess it is just a personal thing, I have a kenton pro-2 collecting dust
to prove it. Everyone works his own way, and to me MIDIing a classic like a
ps3100 seems like a total waste of time and money. A synth with tons of
cv\gate\trigger inputs is worth MANY MANY MANY times more to me than one
with MIDI. That is why synths like jupiter 6 grow pretty old pretty quick
to me. the addition of the doepfer maq 16/3 and op8b cv->MIDI box to my
studio recently has made me reinvestigate MIDI a bit more, but not even
these 2 boxes can totally convert me from my 2 mc4bs as writting tools.

When the next thing comes along to replace MIDI (ZIPI?) I think MIDI will
be dropped very quickly. CV\GATE will survive, but IMHO MIDI's days are
numbered. To each his own, or so I hear......
